McCain Campaign Claims He Helped Create the Blackberry. The Sillies!

Not only is John McCain’s Chief Economic Adviser suggesting that we should vote for John McCain because McCain would like someday to write a bill like the bill Barack Obama wrote over a year ago, but, well, he’s also saying, um, er, well…

Oh, dear:

Asked what work John McCain did as chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee that helped him understand the financial markets, the candidate’s top economic adviser wielded visual evidence: his BlackBerry.

“He did this,” Douglas Holtz-Eakin told reporters this morning, holding up his BlackBerry. “Telecommunications of the United States is a premier innovation in the past 15 years, comes right through the Commerce Committee. So you’re looking at the miracle John McCain helped create and that’s what he did.”

It is indeed a miracle, considering that he has no idea how to use it.

This is not a reason to vote for John McCain. It’s not a reason to vote against John McCain either. It’s just plain silly.

It’s even worse than that. The company that invented and makes the Blackberry is… CANADIAN. So, does Johnny Mac think that Canada is, like, the 51st state? Heh.

All you juniers hardly old enough to shave have no idea how difficult it was for the very first long distance phone compnay under old rules. McCain helped to deregulate th Federal controls that Ma Bell loved. In fact the breakup of Bell Telephone was the single biggest move to improved internet and phone service. So you all better get down and be thankful for the years of service of McCain for making texting possible on any choice of carrier you want. Reality bites.

  3. Jim says:

Year breakup of “Ma Bell” agreed to: 1982
Year John McCain enters House of Representatives: 1983
