Dichotomize This! Two Days Until Election Day 2008. What is Our Choice?

I’m looking for versus verses. It’s two days now until Election Day. 48 hours from now most of the election returns for the presidential, senatorial, gubernatorial and house elections will be in and we’ll be wading through results, either trying to figure out what the mish-mash means or reeling from the overwhelming one-sided mandate of it all. Right now there’s a calm before the storm. There are no more debates to be had, no more position papers to be released, no more Saturday Night Live skits to be watched. If you feel like you need more raw information to make your choice, you probably haven’t been paying close attention.

But there’s a difference between media attention, information accumulation and summation. The time is past for accumulation; this is a time of summation. Those of us who haven’t already voted are working toward some kind of summation that will direct us in the voting booth.

What’s your summation? With two days left, allow me to put a creative constraint on your summation as a way of challenging you to boil it all down:

In celebration of the two days left before the election is complete, can you state with just two words (and the conjunction “versus”) the essential conflict of this campaign?
