Violence If We Stay In Iraq Too

Those people who defend Barack Obama’s excruciatingly slow pace of withdrawal from Iraq often argue that violence would result if the US military pulled out quickly. “We need to be as careful getting out as we were careless going in,” they say.

These defenders of the continued occupation of Iraq need to deal with the kind of event that took place today. At least 21 people were killed in a series of bombings in Sadr City.

I’d like to see those who support prolonging the occupation of Iraq explain just how much violence they’re willing to see take place, as we stay the course under the excuse of preventing violence.

One Response to Violence If We Stay In Iraq Too

  1. Tom says:

The oil companies are keeping us in Iraq until they somehow get their investment money back (that they lost under the deposed Shah). Continuing these short-sighted, wrong-headed, left-over Bush policies is not the change i voted for, how about you? Let the Iraqis figure it out. We don’t belong there.
