The only ones making any serious money at CP these days are the executives. They raped the shopkeeper with the new restructuring. Buy at Zazzle!

After spending all our commissions on the monthly fees for a (sporadically-maintained and not well-promoted) “shop” at Cafepress, we’re in the process of switching to Zazzle.

Their “shops” are FREE. No monthly charges.

Unfortunately, their bumper stickers are 11 x 3 instead of 10.5 x 3, which means a lot of redesigning. >grumble grumble< But I think it will be better overall.

Still can not get over how fans who buy from the MP, can often pay more than what they would if they found the designers shop and purchased through that!

Marketplace sale = fan spends more + designers make significantly less!!

I opted out of the MP as soon as the news broke. However, currently still have a shop as we had paid up until Feb 2010 – and there was no offer of a refund!

And in retrospect, Cafepress have the worst selection of tees amongst the PODs. So why stay with them….????

Skreened isn’t silk-screened — it’s direct print, as all print-on-demand services must be. I can tell you, wearing a Skreened-printed shirt myself, that they’re really well-printed.

What a coincidence that you noted this… I happen to be writing an article documenting these false “Marketplace” sales right now! Look for it in a few minutes…

Thanks for the useful timeline, very helpful. Skreened sounds like silk-screened, is it actually direct print? By the way, as of today shopkeepers are still reporting that shop sales are mysteriously showing up as Marketplace, with the associated high price and low commission. So if you have good tracking, watch them closely.
