He pushed for what he thought was right, not christianity per se. A lot of regular folk who don't hold strong religious beliefs, liked Ken for his plain talk. I don't know if he has a political future, but he does have a fan base that is not theocratic.

Sorry, pal, but I pay attention. Ken Blackwell is a) a theocrat who campaigned on pushing Christianity down Americans' unwilling throats, and b) lost by a huge margin.

Where's Ken Blackwell when we need him? He's no Bible thumping politician, just a christian believer who speaks to the heart of the 50% of the electorat. He stands for our moral beliefs, whether the other 50% like him or not. He's not of my christian denomination but stands for clear conservatism. I like that in a black man! Refreshing!

The politicians are essentially professional con-artists\criminals fighting over which one gets to fleece you.

Divided government seems better. Ideally we'd have a conservative government, but they generally seem as inept as the dems and they're definitely more evil than the dems.

Yes, but Democrats are in power right now so they're more dangerous in the present moment.

Well, qs, given that the Republicans also have a dangerous agenda of destruction and big-brother policies, where does that leave you?

The candidates, according to <a href="http://politics1.com/oh.htm" rel="nofollow">Politics1</a>:

James Lundeen (R) - Physician, Engineer, Scientist, '06 Gov. Candidate & '08 Presidential Candidate
Rob Portman (R) - Ex-US Budget Director, Ex-US Trade Representative, Ex-Congressman & Attorney
Jennifer Brunner (D) - Secretary of State & Ex-Franklin County Common Pleas Judge
Lee Fisher (D) - Lt. Governor, Ex-Attorney General, Ex-State Sen., Ex-State Rep. & '98 Governor Nominee

George Voinovich is not running for re-election, so it is an open seat. "The dems" is a poor phrase to use because it throws the world into low resolution. There are different kinds of Democrats, just as there are different kinds of Republicans and different kinds of Libertarians. I'll support a Democrat when the Democrat supports the kind of policies I'd like to see enacted. Brunner's an interesting candidate.

Who is she running against Voinovich?

Let's hope the dems don't get anymore seats because they already have a monopoly on government power right now and going forward with their dangerous agenda of destruction and big-brother policies.
