For the benefit of those of you who believe in the importance of specially designated Days Of Awareness, I declare today to be the Holy Saturday Festival of Flying Frog Awareness.
For the rest of you, I’ll just share the news: A species of flying frog has just been discovered in the eastern Himalayan mountain range. Okay, actually, it just glides, spreading its toes and parachuting with its webbed feet. Still, that’s pretty cool. Rhacophorus suffry is its scientific name. Anyone care to suggest a common name?
This little frog is just one among hundreds of newly discovered species from the region. It’s a great reminder of the biodiversity that we put at risk as we continue to pollute our planet.
