Last week, I pointed out that according to the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics, the divorce rate in Massachusetts has dropped since the legalization of same-sex marriage in the spring of 2004:

Since then, I’ve found that preliminary divorce data and population data for 2008 have now been released state by state. They allow us to add another data point to the chart:

I don’t see how you can assert, as opponents of freedom have, that same-sex marriage will harm existing marriages. Well, all right, let me revise that: I don’t see you can assert that so long as your assertions are grounded in reality.
How does the Massachusetts divorce rate compare with the US as a whole?
