Timor Sea Offshore Drilling Disaster Joins the Great Wall of China

It has often been said that the Great Wall of China is the only sign of humanity that can be seen from outer space. Now we can add a new wonder to that category: The burning leaking offshore oil drilling platform in the Timor Sea. Sky Truth has found satellite images such as the one below that show an 80 mile long smoke plume coming from the drilling disaster site. It’s visible from outer space.

Of course, it’s long been a myth that the only sign of humanity that can be seen from outer space. There are more and more of these visible signs all the time. Another new sign of humanity can be seen in the rocks of Mount Kilimanjaro, on the Tanzania-Kenya border.

How are rocks a sign of humanity? Nine years ago, these rocks weren’t visible from outer space, because they were covered by glaciers. A new scientific study finds that 26 percent of the glacier on top Mount Kilimanjaro disappeared between the years 2000 and 2007. That change is likely due in large part to human-caused global warming.

It seems that many of those people with their heads in the sand are beginning to realize something may actually be amiss with regards to climate change. Not that they’ll be anything done in time to change it – oh, it’s far too late for that – but at least many more are becoming “believers”.

if pictures of beautiful, nearly naked women, smeared up in oil, doesn’t make the news cycle then i’m afraid satellite photos that need highlight markings for clarity probably won’t catch sean hannity’s eye either. i really thought that little pervert could be tricked into mentioning these oil spills just so he could ogle some nookie.
hey, maybe if you can find a hidden picture of the virgin mary in the oil spill… maybe if the virgin mary was naked…
have i seen this movie before?

Green Man, The oil spill is undeniably bad and thanks for keeping us updated. But I can see my garden from outerspace with today’s satellite imagry (there’s probably satellites that I’d be able to count the garlic shoots that are just coming up). I may have been impressed in the 60s but not today.
