Irregular Times: News Unfit to Print Logo

It is a time of fear in the face of freedom, a time of barricaded roads and new paths. Maps fade and direction is lost as we glance sideways at the strange lands through which we pass, knowing for certain only that our destination has disappeared. We are unready to meet these times but we proceed nonetheless, adapting as we wander, reshaping the Earth with every tread. Gone are the old times, the standard times, the high times. Welcome to the irregular times.

Breaking News! Alert! Imminent News Conference on Safe Child!
posted 5th November 2009 in Media by Jim

I’m sitting here at the shop getting my car’s oil changed, and there’s FOX News playing on the television overhead. I’ve tried to ignore it, but they keep breaking out the snare drums and declaring “ALERT!” “BREAKING NEWS!”

First ALERT! BREAKING NEWS! Subject: Live footage of Representative Todd Akin reading the Pledge of Allegiance out loud.

This first ALERT! was broken into to bring audiences to a second ALERT! BREAKING NEWS! Subject: Any minute now, a news conference about a baby found at an aunt’s house in perfect health.

Oh, my stars and garters! Fetch my smelling salts!

FOX is sometimes good for a laugh. Not much else.

  2. They Call Me...Tim says:

I’m finding FOX to do more stories on both sides of the isle than CNN lately. CNN has been off their game for a couple years now….but both Fox and MSNBC and partisan hack networks anyway…..I still get my news from the internet….

  3. Tom says:

Since they can’t tell us about the current policies of our secret government, won’t show us all the people who were “tazered” today for dubious reasons, won’t give us anything but bullish sentiment concerning the Wall Street casino, our emaciated economy or our falling dollar, won’t expose all the corruption going on in every level of government from local to international, and mainly keep us distracted with fatuous content (it ain’t just Fox), ads & such, television has become another control tool for the police state, driven by corporate America.

And now back to your regularly scheduled day . . .
