Lou Dobbs for Resident!

Have you heard that Lou Dobbs, curmudgeonly pundit against latino immigrants, is considering a campaign for President of the United States? Dobbs is considering running for the Senate first, against the only Hispanic in the U.S. Senate, Robert Menendez, then springing on from that victory to the White House in 2012.

Dobbs is apparently moving ahead in consultation with Fred Thompson, who was able to use his own celebrity status to move his presidential campaign in 2008 from a launch with high enthusiasm into a wimpering end, with a lot of nice naps in between.

lou dobbs for resident bumperHere at Irregular Times, we’re using the bumper sticker you see here to make another career suggestion for Mr. Dobbs. It’s similar to a campaign for President, only we’re taking one letter off the beginning, as the characters on The Electric Company might do.

This afternoon, we are launching the campaign of Lou Dobbs for Resident of the Sunnydale Retirement Home. He ought to feel comfortable there, as he’ll have ample opportunity to complain about the little things: The orange juice has too much pulp, the blankets are too scratchy, bridge tournaments encourage compulsive gambling, the TV in the recreation room is stuck on CNN…

I think he’s against illegal immigrants.

and the particular immigrants he keeps on talking about are… ?

and the reason he supports English-only legislation is… ?

and his justification for saying that “Mexico has become our enemy” is… ?

    • qs says:

English only legislation is ridiculous and unenforceable. An area I was just in finally stopped publishing their local newspaper in Polish, which had been printing that way for 100 years or so.

Well, anything can happen in a dream.

I am personally considering a run for the Senate in the state of Colorado.
