The Obama Administration has finally published a set of guidelines for making the federal government more open, sharing information with citizens about its activities. Woo. Hoo. Color me impressed. Another set of promises from President Obama.
I’ll be sincerely impressed when I see the promise of open government made a reality, when the Obama White House stops ignoring Freedom of Information Act requests, when Obama stops helping Bush Administration officials keep their dirty government secrets, when Obama stops covering up photographs of torture, when Obama’s Justice Department stops asserting state secrets privileges for the Presidency. Until I see these kinds of changes, Obama could make an animated 3-D feature length movie about his plans to create open government, and I wouldn’t be impressed.
Promises are for candidates, Mr. Obama. You’re the President now – the leader of the Executive Branch. If you want people like me to start believing you again, then you need to actually do something. You need to release the important information Americans are requesting, rather than just making press releases.
Secede is not a dirty word. It is a right, a duty given to each american. The US Constitution.
Every American is given the duty to secede? By who? I never got my duty to secede in the mail. Is there someone I can contact to get a replacement?

“…Promises are for candidates, Mr. Obama. You’re the President now – the leader of the Executive Branch. If you want people like me to start believing you again, then you need to actually do something….”
I don’t believe many things any politician says, and I didn’t believe him that he would be more transparent (current Health care debates), or eliminate special interests and lobbyists from Washington (all except his own supporters) or that he would stand up for single payer government health care, or no pork barrel spending, or that he’d close gitmo in 2009 or or… or…..
Now, he caved on single-payer and just wants to get his ticket punched a little.
He is unfortunately as incompetent as he is a corrupt weasel.
