2008: Republican activists spread rumors started by Celeste and Loren Davis, claiming that Barack Obama is really a Muslim who has secret plans to use the American military to help Al Quaeda in a war of Islam against Christianity.
2009: President Obama expands the war in Afghanistan, increasing the number of American soldiers there, and sending more missions from Afghanistan into Pakistan to hunt down Al Quaeda. When the American military is accused to killing ten civilians, including children, in an attack from the air, over a thousand Afghans take to the street chanting “Death to Obama”.
