Now that the Congress has delayed reauthorization of three aspects of the Patriot Act, you might consider joining the Bill of Rights Defense Committee for its Citizen Lobbying Day on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC on February 3, 2010. You can head into DC, meet up with people from the BORDC, get briefed, pick up some strategy for communicating your legislators, then knock on the doors of legislators in person.
If you’re near DC, you could do all that and make a difference. But regardless of where you live, you can get yourself briefed up on Patriot Act issues and call your legislators now. Why wait?
Don’t forget your checkbook!
Well, that’s the difference between citizen lobbying and corporate lobbying, and why you need a lot of citizen lobbyists to outweigh a few monied corporate lobbyists.
Wait for a humdinger that’s coming up on the subject regarding Senator Richard Burr and the SCANA corporation some time tonight, Tom.
