Financially Scandalous Tea Party Nation to Issue Ultimatum on Fiscal Responsibility

Theme of the platform to be sculpted at this weekend’s Tea Party Nation convention, which features $559 registration fees for its “grassroots” conference, demands a $359 payment for people who want to hear Sarah Palin give a speech, pays Palin $100,000 to give that speech and puts her on either a first-class ticket or a private jet for her travel, requires payments of thousands of dollars from activist groups that want to speak at the conference, requires its supposedly salt-of-the-earth attendees to wear “business attire” when they pick away at “hors d’oeuvres,” and makes its money by selling memorabilia made in overseas sweatshops:

Fiscal responsibility.”

    Their version of fiscal responsibility is drinking tea instead of throwing it away.

    Seriously, they say they hate taxes. Well, are they engaging in any boycotts to protest that? Really? Any civil disobedience?

    The Tea Party is so unlike the Boston Tea Party, it’s really just brownish water.
