They don't have to hide anything anymore because after 8 years of Bush/Cheney tearing up the Constitution and now Obama "looking forward", people either don't care, realize they can't do anything about it anyway, or are too busy trying to stay afloat to have any interest or energy to devote to our fundamental rights. The same goes for election reform when the Supreme Court gives corporations (even foreign ones) the right to tamper with them unfettered, and to investigating Wall Street corruption - it ain't gonna happen 'cause they WANT it like this! Each year we'll be sinking lower in standard of living (while the wealthiest 1% continue to live the high life). Perhaps when enough out of work, homeless, and desperate people decide they've had enough, some change will come (and it's likely to be violent). With our continuing ignorance of climate change relentlessly becoming ever-more chaotic, the picture looks bleak for the future of humanity (and the rest of the species we've engineered into oblivion). The pentagon knows this and is gearing up accordingly. It’s all so out in the open now!
