Being Sensitive To The Victims of New York City

August 27th, 2010 | Posted by F. G. Fitzer in Irregular Ideas | Uncategorized

Right wing activists have screamed all summer long that a Muslim community center and mosque must not be built in New York City, because New York City was the site, many years ago, of a terrorist attack by people who were Muslim. They say that the victims of that terrorist attack, even those that were Muslim, will be dishonored by the presence of a Muslim building in the same city.

What do these right wingers suggest that be done now that there has been a violent crime by a Christian against a Muslim in the city? In New York City, Michael Enright stabbed Ahmed Sharif several times after discovering that Sharif is Muslim. Michael Enright is a Christian.

Will the right wingers now propose that, in order to avoid offending the victim, New York City should ban the construction of new Christian churches in Manhattan? These new churches would be near the Stabbing Ground Zero, after all.

Word has also been released that Enright is a college student. Perhaps we ought to create a permanent ban on the construction of new buildings for colleges and universities in Manhattan.

In other news from New York City, a man from Yonkers stabbed a Manhattan resident near Times Square. The question now must be asked: Should people from Yonkers be banned from the Times Square Ground Zero Area? We need to think of the sensitivities of Times Square locals, after all.

Also, the daughter of the US Ambassador to Thailand died yesterday in a fall from the 25th story of a tall tower in Manhattan near Herald Square, just around the corner from the Empire State Building. She had been drinking alcohol. Perhaps, in order to be sensitive to the feelings of the Ambassador and his family, there ought to be a ban on the construction of tall buildings in Manhattan from now on. Also, right wingers should campaign for a ban on alcohol sales in the two block area around Herald Square, don’t you think?

And what about the incident at the South Street Seaport Ground Zero, where three people were shot, with a gun, after a man made a sexual proposition to a woman? Wouldn’t it be best, given the feelings of the victims, to place a ban on sexual propositions by men in Manhattan? Right wingers ought to campaign for a ban on carrying of guns in New York City too, just to be sensitive to victims’ feelings, right?

Oh dear. I apologize. I appear to have gotten my political memes all mixed up. Guns don’t kill people. Mosques do. I forgot that, and I apologize if I hurt anyone’s feelings. I want to be sensitive to your victimhood, so why don’t we create a new ban that would forbid me from writing about the feelings of right wing victims of my criticisms? The poor dears.

LOL Your entire blog is about attacking Christians, many times blaming them all for the actions of a few. Why am I not surprised with your knee-jerk reaction of defending Muslims. Divisive Christian hater.

Pub’s arguments make sense only when one is inebriated (and filled with hate), thus the name i guess.

Let’s make it fair and have EVERYONE packing heat so we can all “defend ourselves.” Somebody cuts you off in traffic, pull your Glock and let ‘em eat lead. Schoolyard bullying? Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson will have something to say about that. Pro and Anti abortion rallies will turn into fire-fights and, just like in Afghanistan, when the smoke clears, we have a “winner!”
