The Dove World Outreach Center, which is burning Korans later this week, is attacking the religious liberty of Muslims, demanding that they not be allowed to build mosques anywhere in the United States, and be specifically excluded from the right to immigrate.

Muslims protesting in Indonesia and Afghanistan are attacking the freedom of speech of the members of the Dove World Outreach Center, demanding that the U.S. government forbid the Koran-burning protest.

General David Petraeus is criticizing the Dove World Outreach Center’s use of free speech rights too, suggesting that the protest ought to be ended because it isn’t in accord with the mission of the U.S. military. “It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort,” he said.

To top it all off, New York Governor David Paterson, who helped inflate the anti-Islam fury in the first place by saying that he’d use his power to push for a relocation of the Muslim Cordoba House Community Center, is now going after freedom of speech and the right to petition the government for redress, saying that New Yorkers ought to just stop talking about the issue for an entire week.

Who in this mess is willing to defend the cause of liberty?
