A Warm October, Regardless Of Electoral Mood

The Republican seizure of control of the U.S. House of Representatives has been interpreted by many as a sign that climate change isn’t something that Americans are willing to worry about. However, though evidence suggests that global warming and other manifestations of climate change are caused by humans, there is as yet no proof that human political opinions alone can have a direct impact on climate. So, climate change continues, although there are now many more members of Congress who prefer to pretend that it doesn’t exist.

In New England, every state but Massachusetts has experienced the warmest year on record. Only Texas and Florida have had below-normal temperatures this year.

Last month was another warmer-than-average month, according to the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration. Not one state in the USA had colder than normal temperatures in October.
