Michigan Against Mitt Romney 2012

In Michigan, state Republican Party leaders are meeting this weekend in order to craft a campaign strategy for upcoming elections… including the 2012 presidential election. Just in time for this mini-convention, a Michigan pollster has released the results of a recent survey that finds that Mitt Romney leads the Republican presidential pack among Michigan Republican voters.

What is giving Mitt Romney the status as frontrunner in Michigan? The news isn’t especially important for the Romney 2012 campaign. Romney is a native of Michigan and has always been popular among Republicans there. However, Mitt Romney failed to grab the presidential nomination for the GOP in 2008 even though he won the Michigan primary. The Michigan primary simply won’t be a reliable predictor of success for Mitt Romney in 2012.

They’re sporting this Michigan Against Romney bumper sticker on their cars, and their activism is already having an negative impact on Romney’s chances. A poll last month showed Mitt Romney 4 points behind Barack Obama in Michigan, losing his own home state.

Is it any wonder? Mitt Romney represents the paradigm of the last century. Voters sense that Romney is ill-equipped to lead America into a better future. All Romney can muster is a desperate defense of ideas that are profoundly out of date.

The results of that poll of Michigan Republicans were as follows:

Mitt Romney: 28 percent
Mike Huckabee: 15 percent
Ron Paul: 10 percent
Sarah Palin: 10 percent
Chris Christie: 6 percent
Mike Daniels: 3 percent
Marco Rubio: 3 percent
Tim Pawlenty: 1 percent
John Thune: Less than 1 percent

Note to supporters of Herman Cain, the corporate establishment’s “Tea Party” candidate: Cain didn’t merit a placement at all.

I think mitt is definitely the guy fir the job, his ideals are what America needs

  2. Fruktata says:

What ideals are you talking about? The ones his daddy bought for him at Ideals-Mart?

  3. Correction says:

No—rather, the ideals that he developed while single-handedly running an LDS mission in France, attending Stanford, Brigham Young University, Harvard, and working at Baine Capital where he rebuilt Staples, Dell Computers, and the Olympics games. O yes, I am also talking about the ideals he learned from his CEO Dad, who, by the way, never earned a college degree. Indeed, Romney is the man who we need in office. And if you wish to scoff at him, then I would suggest that you first do one quarter the amount of good that Mitt Romney has done in his life-time before trying to take him down. You can start by removing this ridiculous website. Remember, if you have a hammer then use it to build your own house not rip down someone else’s.

  4. Mitt has old values like our founding fathers. He would instill patriotism back to our country. He would make us proud to be Americans again. He has proven his financial genius. The country needs him. Huckabee is not a fraction of the man Mitt is.
