US UNCut Protests Against Corporatocracy Expand to Dozens of Cities Across the USA

An America of the Corporations, of the Insider tax writeoffs and for Stiffing the little guy?

That’s not how I remember the phrase going, but it seems to be how this country’s going. Across the country, people are getting ready to declare that they’ve had enough.

An organization called US UNCut is providing a place online for Americans to come together and sponsor activist events against corporate practices of fleecing citizens while skimping on their responsibilities. The first round of protests is organized against corporate banking offshore tax cheats like Bank of America, which slapped together 115 offshore tax havens that are little more than P.O. boxes in order to slink out of paying $45 billion in taxes to the U.S. government. If you and I did this, we’d be hauled off to jail in chains. When Bank of America does it, it’s rewarded with a stimulus payment!

This Saturday February 26 alone, I see there are concrete protests planned in Bellevue, WA, Boston, Boca Raton, Charleston, WV, Charlotte, Chicago, Eugene, OR, Honolulu, Jackson, MS, Kansas City, MO, Los Angeles, Monterey, CA, New York City, Novi, MI, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, ME, Portland, OR, Poughkeepsie, Red Bank, NJ, Sacramento, Santa Ana, CA, Seattle, St. Paul, Utica, and Washington, DC.

And check out US UNCut’s action page for more actions on that and other days. If you live near one of these cities or towns and you’re sick and tired of big money corporations slinking out of paying their fair share in taxes, don’t sit at home. Turn out to protest, and let everyone know what happened there.
