The United States is fighting three wars right now. One of them is the longest war in U.S. history. Another was entered into for a purpose that turned out to be completely nonexistent. The latest of these wars does not have the congressional authorization required by law.
So, what should we do about this problem? Senator Lindsey Graham has an answer: Start another war.
This time, Graham wants the United States to “tell the Assad he has to go. And put everything on the table – including military force.” Yes, Graham wants us to go to war in Syria.
But that’s not all. Pakistan is next on his list. “We’re on a collision course with Pakistan,” he says.
Senator Graham once complained, “We’re failing when it comes to controlling spending.” When it comes to controlling spending, however, the first thing the United States needs to do is control its appetite for new wars.
