A few days ago, Republican Congressman Dave Schweikert introduced a proposed constitutional amendment in the House of Representatives. H.J. Res. 71 would, if ratified, limit the number of the number of terms any politician could serve to 3 in the House of Representatives and 2 in the Senate.
Schweikert’s amendment is a long way from addition to the Constitution, however. At present, it has the support of only two other members of Congress, Republicans Jeff Duncan and Joe Walsh.

Please, for the love of our freedom, may term limits be passed and this congress removed. Please, for the love of our freedom, vote in a congress who is not corrupt, who loves this country, and will uphold our constitution. Please, for the love of our freedom, may this current congress willingly step down and leave their posts for good.
You do realize, Freedom, that term limits are a restriction of voters’ freedom, don’t you?
Mr Cook must be from another country to say that limiting congresses terms would be a limit of voter rights. Every other political subdivision or legislative body throughout the entire country, all have term limits. One big exception; our federal congress. I suppose Mr Cook is also concerned about voter fraud. The latest veiled strategy to discriminate against non-white voters.
Our congress is not independent. Our congress is bought and paid for by special interest. Corporations that are immorally considered people influence the outcome with money. Campaign finance is a problem of influence peddling and is because of the lack of term limits.
I hope and think this debate could become a national debate.
