Rocky Anderson Challenges Americans To Seek The Health Care System They Deserve

Remember health care reform? Remember the push for a single payer, universal health care system in the United States?

Barack Obama never went along with that idea, pushing instead for a compromised pro-corporate system that the Republicans went ahead to trash in spite of its significant concessions to their demands.

There is a presidential candidate who is advocating for the creation of a universal health care system, however. Yesterday, Rocky Anderson, presidential candidate with the Justice Party, issued the following statement:

liberal for president 2012“The bottom line is that we should have an ‘everyone in, no one out’ system that will be

(1) far less expensive
(2) productive of far better medical outcomes; and
(3) accessible to every person in the U.S.

Remember, the only reason we are so far behind the rest of the industrialized nations is the corrupting influence of money from the health insurance and pharmaceutical industries. How long will we stand for this?”

Support this ideal of universal health care? Vote your conscience. Support Rocky Anderson for President.

How can we fight the greed of the pharmaceutical companies who develop the drugs; how can we fight the insurance industry which manipulates (the legislatures to write the laws to their advantage and) the care providers into situations where a person without insurance pays a HUGE penalty (effectively) for not belonging, yet the care providers are saddled with so much paperwork that they must drive up costs by hiring people just to deal with paperwork and insurance lags and billing – costs that are recouped on the backs of uninsured patients paying more than the “negotiated” rate insurance companies pay? Besides rhettoric, i’d like to see the plans spelled out somewhere. i don’t trust politicians and their campaign statements anymore (gee, i wonder why).
