They’re calling tonight’s presidential election debate a “Town Hall debate”, but when have you ever heard of a town hall debate at which politicians were arrested and thrown into jail merely for trying to attend?
That’s just what happened tonight, as the Green Party’s vice presidential candidate Cheri Honkala and presidential candidate Jill Stein were arrested for trying to enter the hall at Hofstra University where tonight’s debate will soon take place. This isn’t the first time that Stein and Honkala have been arrested for standing for acts of civil disobedience.
The arrest of Stein and Honkala brings to mind a question I’d like both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney to be asked at tonight’s debate: Why, in all the many years of your lives, has neither one of you ever participated in a civil disobedience protest against an unjust law and been arrested for your beliefs?
Both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have had had non-violent protesters arrested of expressing their opinions at their campaign events or offices.

Exactly what happened to Nader! How the f<@& can the police arrest citizens going to a PUBLIC DEBATE? By the way, that's a GREAT question you asked.

I’m reading this right aren’t I? HR347 means Stein could face a year imprisonment? This was a restricted grounds by the law’s definition and she knowingly entered and remained in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority to do so.
