Patrick Leahy Wants To Help The Ski Set With Cheap Imports
http://irregulartimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/leahyclose.jpg
He talks about preserving American jobs, but yesterday, Senator Patrick Leahy introduced legislation that will, if passed, protect exemptions from reasonable import fees for foreign-made ski boots.

Obama, Choose Hope Not Tar Sands Pollution
http://irregulartimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/hopenottarsands.jpg
If Barack Obama approves the tar sands pipeline, it will be the moment when the rise of hypocrisy drowned the last remnants of our hopes, and our resentment of Obama’s many broken promises turned into fury.
Maybe Exceeding The Debt Limit Isn’t Really A Big Deal After All
http://irregulartimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/crisisgraph.jpg
Maybe the time has come for Americans to stop freaking out about the supposed “debt limit crisis”, and ask themselves whether it’s really the big deal that it’s supposed to be.
Justice Denied By Supreme Court Refusal To Hear Torture Case
The victory for George W. Bush and Barack Obama comes in the form of an end to a lawsuit by people who were kidnapped by the U.S. government and subjected to extraordinary rendition – the shipping of the victims to foreign governments that are known to use torture against prisoners. The Supreme Court of the United States has refused to consider the case.

Why Bother With Google SideWiki?
http://irregulartimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/irregulargooglesidewiki.jpg
Google Sidewiki is a column that opens up on the side of a web page, making the page’s content smaller, shoved over to the right, and showing the latest Google users’ comments on the page.
Shrinking Pains At Irregular Times

Mel Martinez Gives A Non Explanation
http://irregulartimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/martinezmel.jpg
Martinez swerved into Sarah Palin incoherence when he explained that he would be leaving the Senate for “no impending reason, it’s only my desire to move on and get on with the rest of my life.”

Impovertwitting Online News
I encourage Gunzburger not to give up the Politics1 site for good. It’s been online and active for many years, and that makes it worth quite a bit, even if that value isn’t translated into financial form at present. It would be a shame to see Ron Gunzburger devote the worthy content within his skull to the benefit of the owners of Twitter and Facebook, rather than to preserving his own independent stage.
Afghanistan Under US Control Sends Man To Prison For Promoting Women’s Rights
http://www.irregulartimes.com/motherdavis.jpg
This story, full of political relevance and human interest, is not being published in American newspapers. Why? Because it illustrates how the war in Afghanistan has not resulted in the liberation of the people there?
