I want to thank you for your investigating Americans Elect. I joined AE early, hoping to find a way to jolt our disfunctional political process. I started this with much hope, but have become increasingly concerned about the who, what, and why of this organization. I stumbled you you and your website while doing my own digging on AE. While our views on the issues my be different, I appreciate the work you have done and the information you have shared. Thanks again, Mark |

hi irregular times…. i just read a short piece on “liberals against Ron Paul.” http://irregulartimes.com/liberalsronpaul.html … I wanted to comment on this little piece because I found much of his views were grossly misrepresented and that I, a one time liberal who now supports Dr. Paul, to share why I made the transition. First, there are scientists on both sides of the climate issue… I happen to think humans are dramatically having an effect on the climate. Ron Paul simply doesn’t want the government to take our rights for the sake of “climate change.” In other words, he thinks there are more effective methods of tackling the issue. Would you want the government to control your thermostat, what you purchase, how much you drive, how much energy you use, etc. etc. etc.? Remember, it is the government who “killed the electric car”, destroyed hemp as a viable, clean resource, subsidizes oil companies, subsidizes corn & GMO products (monsanto). Ron Paul is against ALL of these activities because it is a clear manipulation of a free market. This concept might be foreign to some of you, but corporate lobbyists WANT regulations…. it works there favor to keep out competition and monopolize the market. Second, he does want to get rid of the EPA and Dept of Ed…. rightfully so, I know its counterintuitive, but the EPA is a failure. All they do is spend billions of tax dollars declaring “superfund” sites after pollution, often times toxic accidents occur. In the meantime, these accidents are a direct result of market subsidies put in place. Why is Dr. Paul given grief for saying we can protect the environment better? Its almost like we all care about the environment, but don’t want to do anything about it. The Dep’t of education is racists and failing. Period. If your born rich, you’ll do okay…. otherwise you’re screwed. Why should your families income, color of your skin, or religious views dictate your educational future? The answer is it should not! All Dr. Paul says is that parents should be able to choose their children’s school, it should NOT be based on your zip code or social status. Education equality… what a thought! This way, parents living in schools with metal detectors can take their children out of that dangerous environment. As people, we like more choices with everything, food, phones, cars, clothes, etc…. why is education different? HE IS NOT A RACIST. PERIOD. Do some research on that, ie (Ben Swann reality check ron Paul racist) … this will clear this up for you. Dr. Paul is too intellectually honest and pure that they have to make this stuff up. He’s a Constitutionalists, therefore, he clearly believes in Separation of Church and State so these claims are simply false. He does want to do away with Roe vs Wade, but not because he wants the Fed. government to enforce anti-abortion laws, its because the Constitution does not give authority to regulate such a matter. He’s more concerned with ENDING ALL OF OUR WARS and RESTORING OUR FREEDOMS though so a Paul presidency would NOT result in the repeal of Roe. vs Wade. Saying he will allow Lobbyist run free is a laughing stock…. he’s the ONLY member of Congress who lobbyists know not to even ask for money because he will say no. Yet, somehow Obama is praised when he gives millions to corrupt, politically connected companies like Solyndra and the lobbyists are running wild. You say: “In short, Ron Paul is against almost everything that liberals stand for.” let me ask you these questions. 1. Do you support the Patriot Act? …. if you answered NO on ?’s 1-7 & 9 and answered YES on 8 & 10, then you are unknowingly a Ron Paul Supporter! PLEASE, dont listen to the mainstream media…. Ron Paul is the real deal. A voice for the people. Obama gets his money from the same people as Romney and Bush, which are Goldman Sachs, CitiGroup, Bank of America, etc. Its two sides of the same coin. If you really are against everything Ron Paul stands for, then you support the military industrial complex. Even if you dont agree with on all the issues, he’s consistent and honest. The fact that ALL of his money is grassroots support speaks volumes. Liberals for Ron Paul 2012!!!! End the Wars!!!! GOOGLE BLUEREPUBLICANS!!! p.s. i do like how you support free market capitalism through selling things over this site though. I hope you make a profit!! Peace, Love, and Freedom!!! |

Here is a fairly thorough analysis of the failure of “right to work” laws promoted by conservative politicians and lobbyists to increase the quality or quantity of jobs. http://www.epi.org/publication/working-hard-indiana-bad-tortured-uphill/ |
