You know, just because Barack Obama has been elected President of the United States, that doesn't mean our problems are gone. I mean, look at your bunions. They're still there, right? Larger-scale issues remain: Guantanamo? Open. Habeas corpus? Loopholes all over the place. Warrantless surveillance of the American people? It continues under the Obama administration. Torture? Covered up. Endangered Species Act? The Obama administration resists it.
If the aftermath of this election tells us anything, it tells us that change really doesn't come from the top down. It's got to come from the bottom up. If you want a better world, you've got to stand up and say something about it. And that's the first reason why we're offering these bumper stickers, buttons and t-shirts: to help you get the word out that Obama or No Obama, the status quo won't do. Something's got to change -- really change -- around here, and public advocacy for that change is the first step. So pin on that button. Wear that shirt. Slap on that bumper sticker, and start a conversation in your community.
The second reason we're selling these shirts is to help support us in our work as writers here at Irregular Times. Our main job here is muckraking -- poking with a stick at the oozing slicks our national politicians pretend don't exist and the mainstream media looks over. That's why we're following the intramural conflict among Democrats over the National Applications Office. But in order to be able to do what we do, unlike Rahm Emanuel, we have to eat. Picking up a shirt, a sticker or a button today would be of great help.
Stop SB1070 T-Shirt
SB 1070 puts Arizona police officers in the position of carrying out searches, seizures and even possibly detentions without probable cause, interfering in law-abiding people's lives because they somehow look like illegal aliens. Express your opposition with this Stop SB 1070 T-Shirt, made ethically by American Apparel.
Gnomes for Barack Obama Square Button
This gnome came out from behind a tree and tapped on my ankle. "What is it?" I said. He pulled a little sign out from behind his back which made everything clear. They can't vote, but they can advocate: Gnomes for Barack Obama for President in 2008! A whimsical political campaign button from the folks at Irregular Times.
Naturalists Against Romney campaign button
Naturalists oppose the presidential campaign of Mitt Romney because Romney has turned his back on the Earth's natural environment for the sake of his own personal ambitions. That's cold, and it suggests that Mitt Romney just can't be trusted to do the right thing instead of the expedient thing.
Rachel from Account Services Sticker Bumper Stickers
Not another call with a recording from Rachel from Account Services! Aaaaa! I must smash my phone now! What, is Rachel from Account Services some kind of zombie? She will never give up! She will never relent! Run for the hills! Aaaaaaaa! (Robocall bumper sticker)
International Blasphemy Rights Day Bumper Sticker
International Blasphemy Rights Day is September 30 of each year. It's a day for free people the world round to remind each other that if freedom is really free, then it must include the freedom to reject religious restrictions on speech, art and written expression. We have the right to blaspheme or we have no rights to freedom at all. Support the spread of International Blasphemy Rights Day with this bumper sticker.
Ed Markey for Senate T-shirt
Step by step, open-minded, freedom-loving, compassionate America makes its way back onto the political stage with the election of true liberals to the Senate. Massachusetts, we did well with the election of Elizabeth Warren in 2012. Now it's time to elect Ed Markey in 2013. Markey hasn't shied away from supporting human needs just because the corporations oppose him. Let's put a block on the right wing's plan to sell off America to the highest bidder. Let's support Ed Markey for Senate! (Made in the USA pro-Markey campaign t-shirt for the Markey 2013 Senate effort)

Santa Claus is a major employer, you know. He's aware of the issues of escalating health care costs, the inefficiencies of insurance, the difficulty of pre-existing conditions among reindeer. He's really heard it from the elves, too. Everyone at the North Pole has decided that it's time for Health Care Reform to be passed... and that's why Santa is standing out in the cold with a sign. A perfect political Christmas gift.
