For a little while now I’ve been tallying up the connections between two groups:
No Labels, a Washington DC 501c4 corporation that does not disclose its donors and seeks to sway the outcome of Congressional elections next year Americans Elect, a Washington DC 501c4 corporation that does not disclose its donors and seeks to sway [...]
Americans Elect is a 501c4 corporation that doesn’t disclose its funders and wants to nominate its own candidate for President in 2012. No Labels is a 501c4 corporation that doesn’t disclose its funders and has talked about promoting its favored candidates for Congress in 2012. Although the two organizations use the same centrist vocabulary, they [...]
Will Marshall is President of the “Progressive Policy Institute,” but don’t let the word “progressive” fool you. Marshall is “progressive” like George W. Bush’s Clear Skies Initiative cleared the skies. Marshall’s politics are “centrist,” which is to say of the conservative Democratic sort. Will Marshall founded the infamous Democratic Leadership Council which consistently argued that [...]
Americans Elect is a 501c4 corporation founded last year and headquartered inside the Washington DC beltway that does not disclose the identity of the people who are funding it.
No Labels is also a 501c4 corporation founded last year and headquartered inside the Washington DC beltway that does not disclose the identity of the [...]
Both Americans Elect and No Labels are Section 501(c)(4) corporations with intentions to promote candidates (Americans Elect at the presidential level, No Labels at the congressional level) in 2012. As 501c4 corporations, despite their plans to promote candidates for political office, neither Americans Elect nor No Labels is under legal obligation to reveal any funding [...]
The administrator account in the forums of ProVote America, a company gathering signatures for the Americans Elect party qualification effort in California, has written descriptions of the Americans Elect petition and a pitch for it as the group tries to gain ballot access for its 2012 presidential candidates:
Most likely written by ProVote America [...]
No Labels, a 501c4 corporation with undisclosed donors and plans to influence national politics and contribute to candidates through a PAC, is officially launching itself with a news conference on December 13th. The news conference will be broadcast live via Livestream, and to No Labels’ credit it is soliciting questions for the news conference online.
Last month we noticed that a number of staffers for Americans Elect (the 501c4 corporation with a goal of electing its own presidential candidate in 2012) had simultaneously “liked” the Facebook pages for Americans Elect and for No Labels (a 501c4 corporation with a goal of affecting the policy discourse in the run-up to the [...]
There are only 10 people who like Americans Elect, and that’s by design.
Americans Elect is a political party working as we speak to put its own presidential ticket on the ballot in 2012. In a striking break in strategy from its previous effort under the name of Unity08, the Americans Elect party is gaining [...]
As Richard Winger points out in his latest Ballot Access News, Americans Elect lost ballot status in California on December 31 2013, capping a year of drawn-out erosion in the official position of the corporate political party that tried to elect a “centrist” president but failed to find enough actual “centrist” people.
Can we finally [...]
