Reimbursement for Intercessory Prayer Treatments? Not God’s Will.

As the health care reform bill wound its way through the U.S. Senate, senators John Kerry and Orrin Hatch attempted to attach a provision that would reimburse religious practitioners for engaging in distant intercessory prayer; under the plan, health insurance companies would have to make payments to for-profit dial-a-prayer operations when people got sick.
