It is a time of fear in the face of freedom, a time for the widening of previous roads and the opening of new paths, a time of an emptying country and swelling cities, yet a time when these paths are mined by knowing algorithms of the all-seeing eye. It is the time of the warrior's peace and the miser's charity, when the planting of a seed is an act of conscientious objection.
These are the times when maps fade and direction is lost. Forwards is backwards now, so we glance sideways at the strange lands through which we are all passing, knowing for certain only that our destination has disappeared. We are unready to meet these times, but we proceed nonetheless, adapting as we wander, reshaping the Earth with every tread. Behind us we have left the old times, the standard times, the high times. Welcome to the irregular times.
Earlier this year, I spent a good amount of time covering the absurd slurs against Barack Obama made by radical missionaries Celeste and Loren Davis. An email by Loren Davis spread around the Internet claiming that Barack Obama is a secret Muslim and undercover terrorist agent who plans to bomb America after he is elected President.
It’s amazing to me that Republicans actually take these Loren Davis emails seriously, given what else Loren Davis has to say:
The only reason someone would repeat the insanity of Celeste and Loren Davis is out of a hate for Barack Obama so strong that it’s willing to use anything to try to drag Obama down, no matter how absurd. Into that category of hate-addled Obama opponents we can now add Leslie Romriell, the chair of the Republican Party of Bannock County, Idaho. Romriell has been caught sending copies of the Loren Davis email to Republicans in her jurisdiction.
Looks like you can’t trust a word that comes out of Leslie Romriell’s mouth. If the Bannock County Republicans have any honor, they’ll insist that Romriell step down as the chair of their county committee. I expect Romriell to stay on as chair of her county’s GOP for quite some time.
Oh, well. Thanks to 43rd State Blues for bringing Romriell’s behavior to our attention.
Last year, the mainstream media was busy lecturing us all about how important it would be for the candidates to make public shows of their religion. We were told how candidates would benefit from “God talk”, making an important connection to religious voters.
As a result, we’ve gotten the following:
- John Hagee
- Rod Parsley
- Celeste and Loren Davis
- Donnie McClurkin
- Giuliani’s pedophile priest
- Jeremiah Wright
- Mormon-bashing
- Muslim-baiting
- Mike Huckabee’s endorsement from God
- Religious forums where candidates are tested to see if they are theologically correct
I don’t see any evidence that mixing religion into politics during this presidential campaign has elevated the level of debate. From what I see, it’s degraded the level of debate.
Pragmatically, all this conspicuous use of religion in the presidential campaigns hasn’t helped the candidates who have done it. It’s hurt them.
Please, in 2012, let’s not repeat this tawdry little faith-based experiment. Let’s return to talking about presidential candidates’ policies instead of their prayers.
Are you looking for tips on how to best ExPose Barack Obama? Look no further than our video tutorial:
Well, what did you expect?
Some innuendo sourced to Loren Davis, the man who says that the American Flag is itself a secret Satanic symbol? Did you expect some kind of diatribe? A diatribe with nothing more for sourcing than hearsay and third-cousin-twice-removed genealogies? A diatribe claiming that Barack Obama is somehow simultaneously a Satanist, a Christian of the wrong sort, and part of an underground Islamic intifada? Is that what you were looking for?
How embarrassing for you.
Better that you should watch a puppet show. Then try, please try, to stick to the truth in the future.
This one comes from a brainless editor at Reuters:
Obama fights perception he is elitist
Uh, Reuters, Duh!
Barack Obama is running to become President of the Freaking United States of America!
Of COURSE Barack Obama is elitist, and so is every other member of Congress, and every other person who seriously wants to become President of the United States. Hillary Clinton is elitist. John McCain is elitist. Even bloody Ralph Nader is elitist, you gormless Reuters hacks!
Being in Congress, especially being a Senator, and especially being a Senator who is running to become President of the United States, requires that a person be an elitist. If a person really didn’t believe that they were better than anyone else, they would not be running to become President of the United States.
The President of the United States is the most powerful person on Earth - arguably the most powerful person there ever has been on Earth at any time in history. Dare we not call that position elite?
Or are we speaking in some kind of code here that I don’t understand? Is this about Barack Obama being uppity?
Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain are all multimillionaires. John McCain’s wife has over a hundred million dollars, and the McCains have at least as many houses as cats have whiskers.
Why is it that we’re only getting a story from Reuters about Barack Obama being elitist? It sounds like a stupid Republican talking point to me.
Hey Reuters editors - let me remind you of your job description: It’s to report the news, not to repeat the talking points of political part hacks.
Oh, but what story could you have possibly reported instead of this idiotic Golly-Could-A-Presidential-Candidate-Be-Elitist trash? Hmmmm. Hmmmmmmmm. Oh, gotta put on my thinking cap for this one. It’s soooo hard…
The Celeste and Loren Davis Ministries emails are running around the Internet like wildfire. Voters are actually believing the garbage that they’re spreading, about Barack Obama swearing in on the Koran, and being a secret Muslim friend of Al Qaeda.
You know why so many people believe this garbage? It’s because the television news channels from which they receive revealed truths aren’t telling the truth about Loren Davis. It’s because the newspapers of record aren’t telling the truth about Loren Davis.
I can’t believe that the major news organizations haven’t run into the Loren Davis emails and blog postings. They’re all over the place, like rats on the stinking carcass of a decaying democracy. The truth about Loren Davis is easy to find. I found it. It’s in the archived versions of the LorenDavis.com web page!
This story ought to be fun for journalists to write about. Voters are being asked to believe vicious smears about Barack Obama from Loren Davis, but Loren Davis is a faith healer con artist who believes that Satan is in your local elementary school, that the NFL is trying to get people to engage in devil worship, and that Wal-Mart has a conspiracy to put the Mark of the Beast on people using secret satanic symbols in its checkout register.
Come on, reporter people! Do we have to throw it in your lap?
This story even has the American flag angle on it. We all know how much reporters these days love to write about people disrespecting the American flag. Well, Loren Davis has written that the American flag is a symbol of Satan - the ultimate evil. A lapel pin missing for a couple days ain’t nothing to that.
Irregular Times readers, I’m giving you a mission. Be the reporters that the reporters refuse to be. If they won’t tell the American people the truth about Loren Davis, then please, won’t you?
Last week, we gave coverage to the unreported story of the malicious rumors against Barack Obama begun by faith healer Loren Davis.
The trouble in covering this story is that Loren Davis’s emails (there are now at least two different ones being sent around in circles of gullible Americans) are so rambling that it’s difficult to cover all of the distortions and outright lies told by Loren Davis.
Tonight, a reader named Franck Metellus left us with a copy of an email that he sent in response to a friend of his, named Ken, who forwarded the Loren Davis conspiracy theory email on to him. Franck’s email covers some of the bizarre territory that we have yet to explore in Loren Davis’s ideas about Obama.
The following is the text of the email written by Franck Metellus:
“A friend of mine sent me a copy of the Loren and Celest Davis attack on Obama. Here is my response to him.
Ken, Ken, Ken,
Where do you keep coming up with these bullshit emails? I hope you do not give something like this any credence. First of all, Just because you read something, does not mean that it is true. It does not mean that it is not true either. But before you take it as fact, it must be researched. Otherwise it is gossip and innuendo. Neither of which I give any credence to. If I make a decision it will be made based on RELIABLE FACTS AND DATA NOT HEARSAY, GOSSIP OR INUENDO. Do yourself a favor and do not pass on stuff like this because there is no substance to it. Check it out first. I would also encourage you to ask the person or persons who are sending you this junk to stop sending this junk out. It is not funny and it is not a joke. There are too many ignorant weak minded people who will jump on the band wagon just because they see something in print, when in reality there is no substance to it and is just meant to tear down a candidate who is running for office. Actually, I personally question the motives of people who send trash like this out. If they had any REAL issues with Obama based on his record or platform, then I am more than willing to listen to them, but this trash is just disgusting, divisive and does the Country no good.
Let’s analyze the BS email you sent me.
They know Obama’s family in Kenya and the family is responsible for the presidential election chaos in Kenya.
Just because they make the statement that they know the family does not make it true. Even if they did and what they say is true, what does that have to do with Barack Obama? This clearly is an attempt to smear Senator Obama with GUILT BY ASSOCIATION. I explained this to you last time that this is a LOGICAL FALLACY. When someone uses a logical fallacy the conclusion drawn is FALSE because they are using a faulty premise.
Let’s look at the facts from RELIABLE Sources. Below are quotes from CBS News and Wikipedia
The Associated Press reports that Obama has spoken to Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga to “express grave concerns over the election’s outcome,” according to Odinga’s spokesperson, who added that the Democratic hopeful also plans to call Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki.
Obama, who has discussed the situation with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, has also recorded a message urging an end to the violence for broadcast on Voice of America radio.
Odinga and Kibaki are engaged in an electoral standoff that has sparked riots and inflamed tribal rivalries across a country seen as a strong U.S. ally and a rare example of a stable democracy in Africa. Violence
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raila_Odinga
Raila Amolo Odinga (born January 7, 1945) is Kenyan politician, currently serving as the Prime Minister of Kenya under President Mwai Kibaki in a temporary coalition government. He has served as a Member of Parliament for Langata since 1992, was Minister of Energy from 2001 to 2002, and was Minister of Roads, Public Works and Housing from 2003 to 2005. He was the main opposition candidate in the disputed 2007 presidential election. Following a post-electoral crisis that resulted in the deaths of 1,500 people and the displacement of 600,000 more, Odinga took office as Prime Minister, at the head of a national unity government, in April 2008.
Odinga claims to be a cousin of American Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama through the latter’s father, Barack Obama Sr., who Odinga claims was his maternal uncle.[26] This claim has not been corroborated, but Obama Sr. did come from the same Luo tribe as Odinga.[26]
Now here is a direct quote from the BS email that you sent me, “As we watch Obama rise in the US we are sure that whatever happens, he will use the same tactic, crying rigged election if he doesn’t win and possibly cause a race war in America. ”
What makes the author of this shit SURE that Obama will loose, and if he does he will say that the election was rigged? Where are they getting their crystal ball??? I want one so I can put mine to more productive use and pick the winning lottery numbers for me. Secondarily their statement that he will possibly cause a race war in America is totally unfounded and just plain inflammatory. The statement is made just for effect with no logical basis or foundation. This again is designed to prey on the minds of the ignorant , the gullible, and the weak.
The author of the email also states, “What we would like you to know is that the American press has been keeping a dirty little secret. Obama IS a Muslim and he IS a racist and this is a fulfillment of the 911 threat that was just the beginning. Jihad is the only true Muslim way.”
How stupid is this???? First of all if Obama was a Muslim, why was he baptized in a Christian Church??? Why does he attend Christian services???, Why was he married in a Christian Church??? Why were his children baptized and brought up as Christians??? Even if he was a Muslim…So What? There are many Muslims that are good Americans also. The author of the email attempts to paint all Muslims with a terrorist brush, which just is not correct. Here is his or her logic, The 911 terrorist were Muslims, They belong to the class of Muslims and they belong to the class of terrorist, Therefore all Muslims are terrorist.
Let’s play it a different way The KKK terrorist were White, They belong to the class of KKK terrorist and they belong to the class of White people. Therefore all White people are KKK terrorist. See, when I bring it closer to home you can clearly see the logical flaws in this persons thinking.
The second part of their statement is that Obama is a “racist”. Let’s see now, Obama ½ Black and ½ White. Which race is he against? Oh, I get it now, it must be Asians because he is not part Asian? What do you think? How ignorant a comment was that!”
Just as the Republican blogosphere has allowed itself to be tricked into promoting the bizarre, anti-flag, satan-obsessed, football-hating, star-fearing conspiracy theories of Celeste and Loren Davis, so too have they fallen prey to a fantasy known as USA Wake Up.
USA Wake Up (at USAWakeUp.org - no link juice for the wacko right wingers) presents a very frightening picture, just like Loren Davis Ministries does. And just as Loren Davis Ministries has fostered a frightening portrait of Barack Obama in order to achieve political ends, so too USA Wake Up has created its own frightening picture to achieve political ends.
USA Wake Up presents the following scenario: Islamic terrorists have infiltrated the United States, setting up organizations across the United States. Even a member of Congress is in league with them. Despair, America, for the terrorist doomsday is at hand!
Republican blogs have begun to repeat this message, referring people to USA Wake Up, and fretting, Whatever are we to do? The terrorists are here, all over the United States, ready to strike, and the Democrats refuse to act!
The thing is that it’s all just a fantasy. The terrorists are not here. The scenario described by USA Wake Up is not at all real. The following disclaimer is found on the web site:
“The above scenario is a fictitious representation of what could be in store for America. It is not intended to be taken as a true event (yet anyway). This fictitious representation is taken from what is actually happening in Europe, and is currently taking some root in this country. Although we have not yet reached this extreme, we could in the near future if this country does not wake up, and wake up soon.”
Apparently, Republican bloggers aren’t very good at reading. They’re spreading the “information from USA Wake Up as if it is real. Bud Simmons of the blog Thoughts of A Conservative Christian, for example, writes breathlessly that USA Wake Up, “clearly defines where the Muslims have set up Al-Queada terrorist cells in all but a few states!”
Dear me. All it takes is a calm mind to think and to read, and claims like this are easily disspelled. It’s a frightening idea to me that so many Republican bloggers aren’t inclined to think calmly about USA Wake Up, and are jumping to conclusions, accepting a fantasy as an accurate representation of reality.
Isn’t that what USA Wake Up is designed for, though? Lacking any actual sign of terrorist plots within the United States that would justify the never-ending Code Orange Alerts and the assembly of laws such as the Patriot Act and Military Commissions Act that have reduced the Bill of Rights to a zombie of its former self, these Republicans come up with a fantasy of terrorist infiltration, and then act as if it is true.
The reason they do so is that they want it to be true. They want there to be terrorists all over the United States. They want there to imminent peril to American lives.
They want it because they feel lost unless they have an easily-to-define enemy. They want it because they don’t grasp the world of complexities in which constitutional freedoms actually provide better long term security than a draconian police state. They want it because they feel uncomfortable with Americans expressing dissent from government opinions. They want to go back to the days of United We Stand. They liked it when everyone in America felt afraid, because everyone felt afraid together, and all ambiguity was gone. It was a simple way of thinking about the world, and that made them feel good.
So, they’ve invented a mythology of threats that don’t exist, from Loren Davis’s absurd visions of Barack Obama as an undercover spy for Osama Bin Laden, to the 24 TV show (which would actually be rather boring if it depicted the reality of an antiterrorist agent’s life), to the pseudoreality of USA Wake Up.
If the Republicans want to live in that fantasy land of perpetual terrorist peril, that’s their right. I think it’s unwise, however, if Americans allow the Republican fantasyland thrills to determine how they vote in the presidential election of 2008. For that reason, I propose giving Republicans a separate fantasy Election Day.
Those Republicans who thrill to the feeling of their fantasy that terrorists are hiding behind every garbage can across America can have their own Fantasy Election Day. They don’t need to turn out to vote on Tuesday, November 4th. They can go pretend to vote at pretend polling stations on Wednesday, November 5th. They can call it Wake Up Patriot Election Day, and sleep through the real Election Day.
I am truly sad to report this, but it seems that a large number of Hillary Clinton’s supporters are working to spread the nasty slurs originating from Loren Davis, a faith healer who claims that:
1. Barack Obama is secretly a Muslim
2. Barack Obama is part of a secret Islamic jihad conspiracy to complete the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001
3. Barack Obama has been in contact with the Kenyan half of his family in order to promote a man who claims to be his relative, and to use to the supposed corruption and violence of that family to help gain victory in the Democratic presidential nomination.
There is no factual basis for these claims other than the mere assertion that Loren Davis and his wife Celeste say it’s all true.
After I started writing about the truly insane conspiracy theories promoted by Loren Davis, Loren Davis moved quickly to try to delete the document in which much of Loren Davis’s absurd ideas about an international satanic conspiracy are presented. I was able to find the document through Google Cache, however, and I have preserved a PDF version of the original document.
Don’t take my word for it. Read the PDF yourself. Then, go search for it on Google, and look for the cache link. Or, go to Archive.org and search for the following address, where the article was until the Loren Davis Ministries deleted it: http://www.lorendavis.com/news_articles_sirius.html
Any reasonable person who looks at this kind of material from the Loren Davis Ministries quickly comes to the conclusion that conspiracy theories promoted by Loren Davis cannot be regarded as credible. Hillary Clinton supporters especially ought not to give any credibility to Loren Davis, as he has suggested that Hillary Clinton is a socialist who is in league with Satan.
It is very disappointing to me to see, therefore, that some supporters of Hillary Clinton are working to promote Loren Davis and his crazy conspiracy theories about Barack Obama, Kenya, Satan, and Islam.
Starting this month, at a site called Hillary Clinton Forum, a group of Hillary Clinton supporters began to promote conspiracy theories quoting from the infamous spam email from Celeste and Loren Davis, in the screed entitled “The Real Obama Story Exposed!”
Some Hillary Clinton supporters on the forum jumped at the chance to slam Obama with the Loren Davis conspiracy theory. One wrote, “That man is surrounded by evil! I have known this all along,I have a very strong “6th sense”. The people who follow him are too deep in to believe this. Someone has to stop him and stop him now! This could be the end of our lives as we know them.”
Another Clinton supporter asked in exasperation of Loren Davis, “Why is this not being taken seriously by the American Press and the DNC?”
The person who posted the Loren Davis rumors rallied people to spread the email from Celeste and Loren Davis as far as possible: “It needs to be sent -exposed in the media tonight. Election is tomorrow. How do we get this out.” Others on the forum started a campaign to use Digg.com to promote Loren Davis and his anti-Obama conspiracy theories. The group started citing sources like right wing publication Human Events and a book review by Ann Coulter, of all people, accusing Barack Obama of writing his own Mein Kampf.
Finally, yesterday, a Clinton supporter with more integrity alerted the group that Loren Davis is prone to bizarre satanic conspiracy theories. “The missionaries that provided the information for The Real Obama Story Exposed! seem to be NOT credible,” she wrote.
Her call for critical thinking was ignored. “As I said, the only ones that seem to have put this ministry down - making these claims against them were Obama supporters trying to discredit this group,” she was told. As proof of the credibility of the Loren Davis conspiracy theories, Canada Free Press was cited as a confirming source, though what wasn’t explained is that Canada Free Press is yet another political extremist publication, whose latest writings include articles promoting conspiracy theories about the mythical North American Union, attacking Al Gore, and claiming that gay sex is fatal.
My hope is that the people on this Hillary Clinton Forum are not really Clinton supporters, but are Republicans posing as Clinton supporters, trying to spread venom into the Democratic race. Given the setup of the Hillary Clinton Forum, I have no way of determining whether or not this is the case.
Let me reiterate to genuine Hillary Clinton supporters: Please don’t cooperate with these efforts to promote the insane satanic conspiracy theories of Loren Davis. In doing so, you’ll end up embarrassing Hillary Clinton in the long term, and alienating her from Democratic voters. Remember that Loren Davis also accuses Hillary Clinton of being a satanist who hates Christianity and America.
Please, if you happen to encounter other Clinton supporters who start repeating the nonsense about Obama and Islam that has come from Loren Davis Ministries, tell them the facts: That the rumors come from Loren Davis, a nutcase convinced that Satan hides around every corner, who hates Hillary Clinton as much as he hates Barack Obama.
Confronting the outrageous lies of Loren Davis ought to be a point of solidarity for supporters of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton - not a point of division.
Watch out, Republicans. You want to take on Barack Obama on the issue of the American flag? No problem. You’ve left yourselves exposed.
George Stephanopolous ought to have probed the issue of the American flag a little more deeply before he offered his inept question to Barack Obama about whether he really, really, really loves the American flag. If Stephanopolous weren’t so busy taking his political cues from Fox News, he might have actually investigated, and found out what lies beneath the Republicans’ position on the flag…
…some of them think that the American flag is a dark symbol of Satan.
No kidding. I’ve spend the last couple of days looking at American missionaries, and McCain supporters, Celeste and Loren Davis. What I’ve found has been so extreme in its character that it’s often amused me. Who would have thought, for example, that people would seriously accuse the National Football League of being secretly in cahoots with the Devil?
I don’t think a lot of Americans would be quite as amused to discover that Loren Davis Ministries, the apparent source of a bizarre range of nasty and untrue Internet rumors about Barack Obama, has been preaching a radical version of Christianity that regards the American flag as a satanic artifact that promotes worship of the Devil.
It seems far out, but it’s true. The Republicans who have been busy sending around an email from Celeste and Loren Davis have been promoting a man who seems to hate the American flag.
Loren Davis hates the pluralism of the United States. He detests the Bill of Rights and its separation of church and state. He fears the American flag, suspecting it of being a symbol of Hell itself.
He supports John McCain for President.
What hypocrites these Republicans are, accusing Barack Obama of not loving the flag enough, and at the very same time forwarding around nasty emails in the name of Loren Davis, who himself suggests that the American flag is a symbol of pure evil.
If these Republicans truly loved the flag, and didn’t just wrap themselves in it for the sake of political convenience, then they would reject the allegiance of Loren Davis. But, they don’t. Republicans online defend Loren Davis and his flag-hating ways.
Me, I neither revere nor reject the flag. It’s not the flag I care about. It’s American freedom I care about. That’s why I reject the radicalism of Loren Davis, who stretches credibility to find Satan hiding around every corner, and uses fear of Satan as a justification for attacking the liberty that has made America great.
We ought not to allow such a medieval thinker as Loren Davis to influence our opinions about the American presidential election in 2008. Loren Davis is a shocking example of the very backwards thinking behind the Republican agenda. It’s time for America to move forward with a President who has the courage to form a foreign policy and domestic policy that is not defined by fear of demons that do not exist.
Those are intense attacks against Barack Obama, but as I pointed out yesterday afternoon, Loren Davis Ministries should not be given much credibility when it comes to matters like this. After all, Loren and Celeste Davis have said that Hillary Clinton, public education, the National Football League, and even many Christian churches are cooperating in a gigantic satanic conspiracy. I pointed to the Loren Davis Ministries web site to document that Loren Davis had in fact made these crazy claims.
Today, in an attempt to control the public relations crisis for their anti-Obama whisper campaign, the Loren Davis Ministries removed their article that claims that the NFL is part of a satanic conspiracy. Look for it, and all you’ll see now is a notice that the article cannot be found.
Unfortunately for the Loren Davis Ministries, they didn’t think through this cover up very thoroughly. They didn’t take into account, for example, the existence of Google Cache. Google Cache saves a copy of most web sites, so that people can get information even if a web site is temporarily off-line. So, lickety-split, I was able to get right to the Loren Davis web site page about the satanic conspiracy of the Star of Sirius. Almost as quickly, I saved that article as a PDF.
Here it is for you, then: the PDF of the document Loren Davis tried to destroy, in which Loren Davis writes, “An interesting thing happened during the American Super Bowl which determines the NFL Football Champion, February, 2007. The half-time entertainer had a big cloth of some kind around the stage on which he was performing. There was an appendage hanging down from his guitar. This created a silhouette that LOOKED LIKE SATAN with a forked tail, and below him showed the silhouettes of people with their hands lifted as if they were WORSHIPPING SATAN. The secular news media was even talking about this. No one should be naive enough to believe that this was merely coincidental. The world is being conditioned to fulfill Revelation 13:4, to boldly and openly worship Satan. The Bible prophesies this is coming. These are some of the signs of the times. (Matthew 16:3)”
Why would Loren Davis pull down this web site so quickly, in response to our calling attention to it? There are a couple explanations I can think of:
1. What Loren Davis said about there being an NFL conspiracy to promote satanic worship because of something hanging off a guitar during a Super Bowl halftime show was absolutely ridiculous. This claim exposes the complete lack of credibility that Celeste and Loren Davis have, and they realized that. So, they attempted to cover up the article in order to try to salvage their nasty rumormongering against Barack Obama (and Hillary Clinton too - remember that they called her a socialist and satanist too).
2. They wanted to prevent the exposure of John McCain as a satanist.
Let me explain #2.
In the same article in which Loren Davis claims that the NFL is broadcasting messages for Satan, he also attacks the five pointed star. Celeste and Loren Davis believe that the five-pointed star is an ancient symbol of Satan, and so accuse any organization that prominently displays a five-pointed star of being part of a satanic conspiracy to destroy Christianity.
Loren Davis writes, “THE SIRIUS STAR is symbolized by the five
pointed star… The Sirius star is the foundation of the Baal religion of Egypt… BAAL WORSHIP, found in the Old Testament, was practiced in Egypt. BAAL comes from the word BAALZEBUB or BELZEBUB who is SATAN. BAAL WAS LITERALLY SATAN WORSHIP.”
There you have it, pretty clearly. Loren Davis proposes that the five pointed star is the Mark of the Beast, and a symbol of Satan.
Well, that’s a pretty inconvenient belief for a man who wants to destroy Barack Obama so that John McCain can be elected. You see, the logo for the McCain for President campaign has a big 5-pointed star right in the middle of it.
So, by the standards of Loren Davis himself, John McCain must be a satanist. The 5-pointed star is practically plastered all over the John McCain for President web site, so if we are to believe the conspiracy theories of Loren Davis, we must conclude that John McCain is not only a servant of Satan, but a very enthusiastic Satan worshipper at that.
Of course, I don’t believe the conspiracy theories of Celeste and Loren Davis. I don’t believe that the 5-pointed star is a symbol of Satan, and I don’t believe the nonsense that Barack Obama is an undercover agent for Al Quaida either.
There’s trouble for those who have promoted the rumors attributed to Loren Davis, however. If they say that Loren Davis is a credible source on the crazy Barack Obama rumors, then they ought to accept the silly satanic star interpretations of Loren Davis as well. If they do that, they must conclude that John McCain is in league with the Devil.
Of course, Loren Davis and the silly ditto heads who have been forwarding his rumors about Barack Obama around the Internet are supporters of John McCain. So, they can’t deal with the idea that their own favorite candidate is himself a representative of the Hordes of Hell.
If Loren Davis were an honest Christian preacher, he’d take a look at his rantings and conclude that John McCain is indeed a satanist who wants to kill Jesus. But, it seems that Loren Davis is not an honest Christian preacher. Instead of following the logical structures of his conspiracy theories, Loren Davis just tried to shove them under the rug.
The Loren Davis Ministries simply deleted the parts of the conspiracy theory that were incovenient for the John McCain for President campaign. Yesterday, Loren Davis believed that a 5 pointed star is a sign of Satan. Today, Loren Davis has deleted that belief.
Depending on whether his original claims about the meaning of the 5-pointed star were correct, this coverup exposes Loren Davis either 1) a purposeful huckster who doesn’t believe his own preachings; or 2) a collaborator with Satan who is willing to promote a presidential candidate he knows to be an agent of Satan.
You choose which interpretation makes the most sense.
If you’re at all involved in political discussions about the 2008 presidential candidates, the chances are that you’ve run into some comments about Celeste and Loren Davis, and the shocking revelations they are supposed to have about Barack Obama.
Among their allegations:
- Barack Obama is secretly a Muslim
- Barack Obama is part of a secret conspiracy to complete the agenda of the September 11 attacks
- Barack Obama and his family in Kenya are a socialist political powerhouse behind the recent violence there
Celeste Davis and Loren Davis are claimed to be plain, ordinary Christian missionaries who have gone to Africa, and have learned the sinister truth about Barack Obama by talking to people there. Who are these people, really?
Celeste and Loren Davis are the leaders of Loren Davis Ministries, which you’ll see is by no means a simple mainstream Christian organization, if you examine even it briefly.
Let me introduce you to some of the assertions, not directly referring to Barack Obama, made by Loren Davis Ministries:
———-
Public education is a satanic conspiracy… that involved pretty much everyone other than those people who agree with Loren Davis.
“Satan is a deceiver. He comes with many different masks: atheism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Communism, public educational institutions, Hollywood and the New Age to name just a few.”
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are part of an anti-Christian conspiracy led from within Christianity by preacher Rick Warren.
“THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES FOR PRESIDENT HILLARY CLINTON AND BARAK OBAMA SPOKE AT RICK WARREN’S SADDLE BACK CHURCH. Why? What does having the politicians speaking at his church have anything to do with bringing people to Christ and faith in the Bible?… Hillary Clinton’s book, “It takes a Village to Raise a Child”, is a socialistic concept. Her national health plan is SOCIALIZED MEDICINE. Is Rick Warren’s promotion of these politicians just coincidental, or indicative of their common socialistic agenda? Rick Warren himself baptized a homosexual activist. This is defying the Bible.”
Even most people who call themselves Christians are part of a secret satanic plot to destroy Jesus when he returns to Earth.
“The antichrist is coming. The paganized church is positioning itself to survive and thrive under the Antichrist’s regime. “
The National Football League is part of a conspiracy to promote worship of Satan.
“An interesting thing happened during the American Super Bowl which determines the NFL Football Champion, February, 2007. The half-time entertainer had a big cloth of some kind around the stage on which he was performing. There was an appendage hanging down from his guitar. This created a silhouette that LOOKED LIKE SATAN with a forked tail, and below him showed the silhouettes of people with their hands lifted as if they were WORSHIPPING SATAN.”
———-
Some supporters of John McCain and Hillary Clinton who are worried about the popularity of Barack Obama are beginning to cite the claims Celeste and Loren Davis make about Barack Obama. I’ve got a piece of friendly advice to them: Don’t be tempted by the easy sensationalism of the Loren Davis slurs. It isn’t going to do McCain or Clinton any good to have their campaigns associated with the wacky extremist conspiracy theories about Satan promoted by Loren Davis.
Besides - it’s probably only a matter of time before Loren Davis declares that John McCain’s use of a 5-pointed Star of Sirius in his campaign material proves that he is a secret servant of Satan. As for Hillary Clinton, Loren Davis has already implied that she is part of a socialist conspiracy to serve Satan by destroying true Christianity.
UPDATE: Loren Davis Ministries has responded to this article by attempting to erase evidence of his radical beliefs.
