Yesterday, Tim Kaine rose to speak on the floor of the United States Senate to remind his colleagues of a growing illegality in U.S. foreign policy: The ongoing U.S. involvement in civil war in Iraq and Syria – without the constitutionally required declaration of war.

Although the majority of Senate Democrats voted to support the Whitehouse amendment to bring the costs of climate change back to the polluting industries responsible for it, 13 Democratic senators joined the Republicans to vote against it. I’m naming names here.
Knock off the “God-given” line, Governor Kaine. When it comes to real equality, no divine being has done jack. It’s up to we the people of the United States of America, through our democratically-elected government, to do that.
Why can’t we keep politics separate from the messy and often absurd realm of religion? Is Tim Kaine saying that atheists and other nonreligious Americans can’t be involved in politics? Does Tim Kaine think that only religious citizens can be involved in politics?
